LADIES AUXILIARY
The objectives
and purposes of the Ladies Auxiliary are to promote sociability among members, to assist in promoting the welfare of Spalding
Council Knights of Columbus and to promote some charitable activity each year.
Membership is open to any Christian
woman over the age of 18
Our dues are $10.00 per year payable on January 1 at the K of C open house. Those not
attending the open house will be sent a letter requesting payment of dues.
A $750.00 scholarship to Peoria Notre
Dame is awarded each November to a paid-up member’s daughter or granddaughter. Member’s dues must have been paid
by March of that year. The Scholarship is awarded by random drawing of names submitted by the member. The same student may
only be awarded one scholarship.
Each year in the spring, a raffle is held with the proceeds going to a charitable
organization. The last few years it has been OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois. We have also donated to the Sister’s
Retirement Fund. Other monies have been used to help defray the cost of running the K of C Clubhouse, such as paying for some
of the bricks at the entrance to the club, the window treatments, the rolling door at the serving window of the kitchen and
many other items.
Masses are requested in the event of a member’s death or the death of her immediate family
member. Our board meetings are generally held the 3rd Tuesday of the month except the summer months and December.
